Bharuch (formerly commonly known as Broach) in India, is a district in the southern part of the Gujarat peninsula on the west coast of the state of Gujarat with a size and population comparable to that of Greater Boston.
Sujani is a quilt which is woven doubly with cotton fabrics and it is brimmed with cotton in between the two layers. It is one of the best quilts made in Gujarat. Bharuch is the only center in Gujarat, where this craft is still being practiced. This hand woven textile is created by two weavers sitting on either side of the loom and partakes in this scrupulous craft form.
